8.3.1.4 Reference Decoupling

When using the internal reference (see the Reference section), make sure REFIO (pin 3) has a 1µF, X7R-grade, ceramic capacitor with at least a 10V rating. Place this capacitor close to the REFIO pin, as illustrated in Figure 8-8. In cases where an external reference is used, see the reference component data sheet for filtering capacitor requirements.
