7.4 Device Functional Modes

The LMx85-2.5 and LM385B-2.5 devices have a single functional mode. These devices can be used as 2.5-V fixed voltage references. The reference voltage cannot be adjusted for these devices.

For a proper Reverse Voltage to be developed, current must be sourced into the cathode of LM285. The minimum current needed for proper regulation is denoted in Electrical Characteristics as I_Z(MIN).
