7.3.22.8 Hardware Lock Detection Current Limit (HW_LOCK_ILIMIT)

The hardware lock detection current limit function provides a configurable threshold for limiting the current to prevent damage to the system. The MCF8316C-Q1 continuously motor phase currents are using comparators. If at any time, any phase current exceeds HW_LOCK_ILIMIT threshold for a time longer than tHW_LOCK_ILIMIT, a HW_LOCK_ILIMIT event is recognized and action is taken according to the HW_LOCK_ILIMIT_MODE. The current threshold is set by HW_LOCK_ILIMIT and the deglitch time, tHW_LCK_ILIMIT is set by HW_LOCK_ILIMIT_DEG. HW_LOCK_ILIMIT_MODE can be set in four different modes: HW_LOCK_ILIMIT latched shutdown, HW_LOCK_ILIMIT automatic retry, HW_LOCK_ILIMIT report only, and HW_LOCK_ILIMIT disabled.
