ZHCSLE3 June 2023 OPT4060
PRODUCTION DATA
The scaled output from the OPT4060 channels 0, 1, and 2 correspond respectively to the red, green, and blue color content of the light incident on the device sensor area as specified in Light and Color MeasurementLight and Color Measurement. Here is an example of such measurements performed with an RGB LED source TI LP5036EVM. The intensity of the red, green and blue LEDs were varied independently and the corresponding color coordinates detected by OPT4060 measured. Normalized R',G',B' values (see Light and Color MeasurementLight and Color Measurement) are calculated for both the TI LP5036EVM and the OPT4060. This data can be visualized in a 3D plot as shown in Figure 9-3 with the axes representing the R', G', and B' values. The normalized points form a 2D triangle with each vertex corresponding to the respective normalized red, green, and blue outputs of the LED source. The position of each point in the plot is determined by the LED light source values. The color of each point is determined by the OPT4060 R',G',B' reading. It can be seen in the plot that OPT4060 can be used to determine the color for each output setting of the light source.
