8.3.2 VIO Pin

The VIO pin provides the digital IO voltage to match the microprocessor IO voltage thus avoiding the requirements for a level shifter. VIO supports IO pins SPI IO, GPO1 and GPO2. It also provides power to the oscillator block supporting the crystal or CLKIN pins. It supports a range of 3.3 V to 5 V ± 5% nominal value providing the widest range of controller support. This pin requires a 100 nF capacitor at the pin. See Power Supply Recommendations for more information.
