The inputs and outputs incorporate internal ESD protection circuits to (V+) and (V-).

Voltages on the inputs are limited to 0.1V beyond the rails. If the inputs are to be connected to a low impedance source, such as a power supply or buffered reference line, TI recommends adding a current-limiting resistor in series with the input to limit any transient currents in case the clamps conduct. Limit the current to 10mA or less.
