For this design example, the 1.8-V output voltage device is selected. The device is powered by DC/DC converter connected to a battery. A 2.1-V headroom between VIN and VOUT is used to keep the device within the dropout voltage specification and to ensure the device stays in regulation under all load conditions for this design.
