There are many applications in which microprocessors or controllers have a limited number of I/Os. The TMUX136 solution can effectively expand the limited I/Os by switching between multiple buses to interface them to a single microprocessor or controller. A common application where the TMUX136 is as a I3C 1:2 multiplexer. In this application, the TMUX136 is used to route communicating between different DDR modules from a single controller within a server, as shown in Figure 9-1. The high bandwidth of the TMUX136 will preserve signal integrity at even the fastest communication protocols that may be used in server applications, such as I3C.
