When IOUT reaches the current limit threshold, ICL, the device will register an overcurrent fault and begin regulating the current at the set limit. When any switch is in the FAULT state it will be indicated on the FLT pin. This protects the system against overload cases where the load attempts to draw more than it's max rated current, so the TPS274C65 can recognize and limit current or shut off during these cases. In the case of a slow overload with the device channel enabled for a while, the current limit levels are as shown in Figure 8-19.
