7.5.2 Powering Device Into Programming Mode

The TPS542A50 can be powered on into programming mode for pre-operation configuration by bringing the SYNC pin above the SYNC threshold. This wakes up the device from low-power shutdown mode and the I2C interface is active for communication. Once the device configuration is complete, the EN pin can be brought above the EN threshold to begin power conversion. After this, the SYNC pin can either be driven low, Hi-Z, or used to synchronize the switching frequency to an external clock.
