9.2.1.2.4 Buck Input Capacitors

For optimal performance, every buck needs an input capacitor, and the capacitor value and voltage rating must be at least 10-µF, 10-V and must be placed as close to the buck input pins as possible. If the board size allows a larger foot print, a 22-µF, 10-V capacitor is recommended. See Table 9-5 for the recommended input capacitors, and the Section 11 for more information about component placement.
