8.2.3.2.3 Output Capacitor Selection

The TPSM5D1806 requires a minimum amount of output capacitance for proper operation. The minimum amount of required output varies depending on the output voltage. See Figure 7-5 for the required output capacitance.

For this design example, six 100-µF, 6.3-V, ceramic capacitors are selected for the 0.9-V output. Additional output capacitance can be needed to meet transient requirements.
