4.1.2 Output Filter Design

The TPS62260 data sheet states that the part is optimized for use with an output filter comprising a 2.2‑µH inductor and a 10-µF capacitor. In this application, the standard inductor value was used. However, because output voltage ripple is uncritical (at 2.5 MHz the human eye detects no worsening of performance) a smaller capacitor value of 4.7 µF was used to reduce cost.
