9.2.1.2.9 Boot Strap

Select a ceramic capacitor CHB1 = CHB2 = 0.1 to approximately 0.22 µF, placed close to the HB and SW pins. The fast switching diode of the forward current rated at 1-A and reverse voltage not lower than VHV_max should be selected as the boot strap diode, through which the boot capacitor CHB1 or CHB2 is charged by VCC. To reduce the noise caused by the fast charging current, a 2-Ω to 5-Ω current limiting resistor must be placed in series with each boot diode.
