The I2C connection from the TPS65994AD and the Thunderbolt control allows the Thunderbolt controller to read the current data status from the TPS65994AD when there is a connection on either Type-C port. The Thunderbolt controller has an interrupt assigned for the TPS65994AD and the Thunderbolt controller will read the I2C address corresponding to the Type-C port. The I2C2s on the TPS65994AD is always connected to the Thunderbolt controller.
