The TPS54KC23EVM is an evaluation module for the TPS54KC23 device, a 4V to 16V input, 30A remote-sense synchronous buck converter. The converter uses D-CAP4 control mode for fast transient response and, by desensitizing the performance dependency on the level of output voltage, it improves ease of use. TPS54KC23 offers transient response with both high VOUT and low VOUT, without the need to change the application schematic for high VOUT or low VOUT optimization. TPS54KC23 provides an optimized pinout for efficiency and thermal performance. The symmetrical input structure (VIN and PGND pins on both sides of the package) provides robust EMI performance.
This evaluation module includes two stages. The first design (U1) demonstrates the small printed-circuit-board areas that can be achieved when designing with the TPS54KC23 regulator. The second design (U2) demonstrates the high efficiency that can be achieved when designing with the TPS54KC23 regulator. The second design also includes jumpers that can be used to easily evaluate the features of the TPS54KC23.
